Soon i shall once again join the ranks of the unemployed.
I'm feeling quite relieved, frankly. I can't see myself doing this for a long time. Nope, office work doesn't do it for me. So my Mom asks, "WHAT do you want to do?"
I have no idea. I have very hazy plans for the next months until the commencement exercises (i would then officially call myself a graduate; which reminds me, i should apply for my transcript of records, and get my graduation pic taken >_<). My plans--uh, maybe try to get into those writing workshops. Maybe study Spanish. Maybe learn to drive. Maybe write a ton of fanfiction to keep myself from gnashing my teeth in frustration. Maybe get around to cleaning my room. Learn the Elven tongue. Read all those books i bought during the Christmas break. Definitely bum around.
Not very good plans, i know. I could hardly call them plans--notice the many 'maybes'.
*sigh*
I do know i will enjoy sleeping until very late in the morning, and staying up equally late in the evening. Not that i don't stay up late these days, but that's just because i work overtime at the office and i get home late because of traffic and all that. That doesn't count. Am looking forward to waking up at my own leisure and not at the sound of the alarm clock (or cell phone, i should say). *smiles wistfully*

I've watched TTT twice now, and passed up the chance to watch it a third time last Friday. Was too tired and had lots of work to do. Over the weekend got addicted to playing The Sims--my Sims family consisted of quite accurate copies of Aragorn, Arwen, Boromir, Faramir, and Eowyn. I adopted some Jane Doe kid, who got shipped off to military school after missing a day from school and not studying hard enough. Apparently the Sims of the Gondor family are not the most brilliant parents. Boromir was mostly a bum before he got employed as a pickpocket, Aragorn got fired from a security guard job and is now employed as a football mascot, and Faramir is a depressed military recruit. So far only Arwen and Eowyn have great careers as medical interns, bringing home the fattest pay checks. *don't have to be malbreth the seer to know how i'll spent the next unemployed weeks*
Anyway, i've updated my tolkien links: i now know that the 2 lost wizards were called Alatar and Pallando (the Blue Wizards). Actually Alatar was the one to be sent with Gandalf, Saruman and Radagast, but he insisted on bringing "a friend", Pallando. *wink, wink* Check out the link to the Encyclopedia of Arda for more Tolkien Trivia. Also check out Ardalambion (The Tongues of Arda) if you're interested in the languages Tolkien invented. Finally, there's the Council of Elrond, a fun site--my favorite section of which is Pippin's recipe box where there are recipes for miruvor, lembas and other tasty middle-earth treats ^_^

Am still reeling from The Two Towers. Legolas! Pippin! Sam! Aragorn! Faramir! Gaad, i think Faramir was the only one from the race of men who wasn't dugyot. I mean, hello, even Eomer looked mangy. Oh wait, Theodred, though he died, was kinda cute. He wasn't dugyot that much, even if he was wounded and all. And all the purty, purty elves! *sigh*

I miss Boromir *sob*

I'm kinda hoping they get Sean Bean to play Sirius Black in the next Harry Potter movie ^_^

Boromir's my fancy!

temenos music: tick...tick...BOOM!
fave kikay line: *Twinkies!* Oh my God, I love them! ^_^

tick...tick...BOOM! is an off-broadway musical by the late jonathan larson, the same guy behind Rent. Like Rent, it poses the same questions about doing what you want with your life or compromising your dreams for money or material comforts. Well, that's what I can glean from the songs in the tape Da generously gave me ^_^ For more information, visit the site and the official site of Rent.

How apt--listening to such songs while working. But I take comfort in the fact that by the end of january, i'll be a bum again *-* I was given a chance to extend my job for another month, but really, I've had enough of the workings of the corporate world. Plus the fact that Da says we should try out for some of those writing workshops, just for the hell of it. Sure, as one of my former professors say, they're crap, but its good to get some feedback sometimes, good or bad. Besides you get to travel.

Anyway, i'll be watching The Two Towers tonight with demented gem and mad bengki. Will also be spending the night with them, so it'll be fun and i'll be a happy, squishy gurl n_n

temenos music:Coldplay, parachutes

Resolutions? Hmm...I don't have any. I found out a long time ago that I always forget about them after a month or so. But i do have some plans that i will hopefully accomplish:

-learn to drive
-uh, get a car before i learn to drive, or convince my dad to let me use our family car
-re-learn playing the guitar. Was trying to learn back in high school, but i prioritized writing then
-write! anything. everything.
-get a job. one that i actually like
-get an effing haircut +_+

So okay, those plans aren't exactly BIG. But i'm miss procrastination so yep, it'll take me the whole year to get everything done. Anyways, if ever my plans never materialize, i could always try this:

temenos music: barbie's cradle, music from the buffet table

Somehow, whenever i hear dear paul by barbie's cradle, i always think of that actor in Spin City who plays the character named Paul. So despite the fact that the song is sad, it always makes me chuckle.
Had a not-so-great New Year, being sick and all. I was (still am) coughing so hard i havent slept decently in the past week or so. But the lunch at Cafe Lupe was great--that's a great place, they have great coffee. Wanted to try their margaritas but as Da so kindly pointed out that day, it was high noon and i shouldnt be having margaritas.
Anyway we decided to go to Cubao to book hunt. I had some great finds: Le Guin's Left Hand of Darkness (40 php), Irving's The World According to Garp (70 php), Heinlein's Time Enough for Love (90 php), Zimmer-Bradley's Lady of Avalon (160) and Morrison's Sula (70 php) which was all over the place, haunting me through 3 book shops so i decided to just buy it. There are a bunch of other books i also bought, and only until i've read them will i know whether they are great finds. But the whole lot is quite promising. So i'm happy. Plus we watched Y Tu Mama Tambien and parts of the extended version of Fellowship of the Ring at the hysteric pixie's house yesterday. Hope the yaoi fix can last until Saturday, when we watch The Two Towers.
I better get back to work, as i've been absent since Jan. 2.
