The final deathblow
Though I don't know who's more dead, me, or this damn semester. I thought I could breathe easy once the 20th rolls around, since it marks the timely demise of this hellish semester. But noooohhh!!! I had to type up a report I did last June (can you believe it?) and pass that to my prof via e-mail (yahoo! is doing crazy stuff again, I can't seem to attach any attachments *grumble*). I had to go shuffle through a mountain-ful of readings to look for my darn notes, and it turns out my notes were in the book I was reporting on all along (fancy that). Had to type it all up, (slow, tedious process, despite the cup of coffee at my elbow), and attempt to send it off. Finally gave up on yahoo! and used my UP WebMail account (hate my username, it makes me seem like some oaf named Ed. No offense to all Eds out there).
I just know that when I get my classcards later this week I will be incomplete in at least 2 subjects. First time in a long time I missed my deadlines--by mere hours, I tell you. The bane of having elderly professors--they leave the university before lunchtime. Gah.
I'm done ranting.
P.S. Watched
House of Flying Daggers with Apwil. Was laughing so hard in the last, dramatic, climactic battle scene. Takeshi was hot. I'm done gushing.

Gyaaahhh!!! *charges with battle axe* Die, Semester, die!
*pants after a million hacks* Why won't you
die?
Okay, I said (posted) that I would have to settle for an incomplete on that blasted class of mine. But surprises of surprises, my prof decided to extend the deadline to Oct. 20 for our seminar paper, so it looks like I have no choice but to work on it.
Dang, dang, dang.
And here I was just itching to play
Dynasty Warriors again. There is just something ... lovely ... when you're hacking away at enemies and their agonized death screams fill the air. And I also have several other games that I haven't even touched for, what? Six months? That's too long to be without any gaming life.
I'm craving old-fashioned sour cream donuts.
I'm going mad.

I was so brilliant in that paper! *pats herself on the back*
I am SUCH a liar *hangs head*
Just finished the second of four papers required this semester! Two more papers to go! Actually, if one of my professors doesn't extend the deadline (for tomorrow, no less) I will have to settle for an INC, work on it during the break, and complete it at the start of the next semester. I just can't finish it on time--I have to scan some images along with it because the damn paper is on a graphic novel, duh. Why do I choose topics that will eventually kill me? Besides, I'm still braindead from that last paper i submitted.I need a day to re-orient myself. Or, since the fourth of these required papers is along the same lines as the first two (a paper on Philippine literary aesthetics, which will probably end up as a paper defining my own PREFERRED literary critical practice, which I have applied in my previous papers: post-colonial, feminist, materialist), I can actually finish that first. I've read all the materials, I have my arguments all covered--all I need to do is the actual writing.
My head hurts already. And there's no decent coffee at home, my mother suddenly comes up with the idea of switching to decaf. Um, hello, that's like taking aspirin that isn't really a pain reliever.
This is one of those semesters that just does NOT want to die....
